Dr Melissa Sullivan grew up in Perth and spent her early working life in a range of corporate roles prior to completing a Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry, Anatomy & Human Biology) at UWA followed soon after by a Medical degree at University of Melbourne.

Dr Sullivan recently moved back to Perth from Melbourne where she was the Senior Police Medical Officer for Victoria Police managing the Medical Advisory Unit.  Victoria Police has approximately 22,000 staff including public servants, police custody officers, police and protective service officers.  The Medical Advisory Unit had a broad range of expertise including occupational medicine, psychiatry, psychology, exercise physiology, nursing, and drug & alcohol testing providing a range of services and specialist advice to the organisation.

While Dr Sullivan’s background is primarily general occupational medicine, her recent role with Victoria Police also incorporated a wide range of high-level medical administration duties including policy advice, involvement in legal proceedings, industrial issues, work cover premium matters and stakeholder engagement.  With over ten years occupational medical experience including her own occupational health clinic at the Perth Airport, Dr Sullivan remains committed to assessing and managing the health, safety and risk of industry.
