AMS
Approved Medical Specialists (AMS) are senior medical practitioners with a sound knowledge of the Work Cover WA Guidelines and impairment assessment. They are appointed by Work Cover WA after proving their occupational credentials and knowledge.
AMS assess the degree of permanent impairment caused by workplace injuries. These independent medical assessments provide the foundation by which Insurers offer financial compensation to permanently injured workers. They are also required in cases where the worker and the employer do not agree about the degree of permanent impairment.
Fitness-for-duty (FFD)
FFD – Our experienced occupational team provides a comprehensive independent medical assessment of injured or unwell workers in relation to their specific position and what potential restrictions or ongoing management is required for them to return to their role safely and effectively.
